Bhavani Foundation: Empowering Udupi's daily wage workers first, prioritizing their needs above all.

Poverty is the main concern worldwide and presents an unprecedented challenge to the entire underprivileged part of the nation, including their health, food systems, and the world of work, which has affected their entire food system and has laid bare its fragility. The economic and social disruption is continuing despite that we’re out of the pandemic misery. The lockdown that hit us during this pandemic, showed us the reality about the poor part of the nation, which still needs attention and needs to be looked into even after the times of Covid.

India is a country where millions of people live in extreme poverty. Without the means to earn an income, certain workers are unable to feed themselves and their families. Due to this acute food shortage, their lives have turned upside down. To help the poor navigate, Bhavani Foundation has been working round the clock to ease the distress with numerous activities. In a move to offer relief and feed the hungry, Bhavani Foundation had organized a Grocery Distribution Event to help them survive even after the pandemic. A total of 100 kits were distributed to the daily wage workers from the small villages of Udupi District, including Manipura, Dendoor & Alevoor on the 27th Of August, 2021, Friday at 3 pm. The motive of this mission was to help these vulnerable communities to fight hunger during this crisis.

Bhavani Foundation believes in serving the under-privileged and comforting them in different ways in order to improve their quality of life, by making sure that they are not compromised on good health. Bhavani Foundation knows the truth behind “Poverty” and aims to understand the extent to which the economic crisis is affecting the workers’ food problem, leaving them highly indebted. Hence Bhavani Foundation wants to serve them for the long run, to help the economy to recover faster for these daily wage workers to bounce back to their day-to-day duties like before.
