Pirkatwadi is a small village near the foothills of Matheran, it is a small settlement consisting of small families of children and women. Pirkatwadi, along with nearby villages Trikatwadi, Umbanewadi, and Arsatwadi are like a community altogether. These villages live like one “big family”. They celebrate festivals, functions, occasions, and all the major plus smalls events enthusiastically.
Unfortunately, these villagers did not have a proper reserved space to celebrate certain events like marriages, engagements, birthday parties, anniversaries, social gatherings, family get-togethers, and more. They used to simply tie up a mandap and attend.
That’s when “Bhavani Foundation”, pitched in and contributed to building a beautiful Hall: ‘Samaj Bhavan’ that could be utilized for various events by these villagers. Seeing the work in progress the villagers were excited. They couldn’t contain their excitement as it was their very first “Community Hall”. The workers sent through Bhavani Foundation did a commendable job. The villagers were extremely happy with the final result and were immensely thankful to Bhavani Foundation.
The inauguration took place on the 9th of February in 2019 at Pirkatwadi. It was gracefully commended by Mr. K. D. Shetty, President of Bhavani Foundation who was accompanied by his wife Mrs. Sarita K. Shetty. To grace the occasion, dignitaries with many accolades like Mr. Nitin Gadapale, the Chief Editor of Sakal newspapers had been invited as the chief guest. To show indebted gratitude, the villagers thanked the guests with a warm welcome and even named the hall ‘Bhavani Foundation Samaj Bhavan’ after the name of the Foundation.
“Bhavani Foundation” cares about the upliftment of these rural areas and willingly wants to look after the villagers who are in need of certain basic requirements.
